Graffiti baseball cap commission for a friends son, hat was originally white but as its for a 7yr old who like most kids that age are magnets for dirt I decided to spray it a darker color to give the hat a longer life so to speak. It didn't work out as planned having sprayed the hat the paint fluffed up loads of fibers which then set solid - this made painting it with pens very difficult as the nibs kept catching on the rough surface so the lines are not as clean as I would have liked.
Anyone who knows of any good primers for 100% cotton that will stop acrylic paint from spreading please give me a heads up, I currently have to spray a base layer with standard spray paint to avoid this problem.
